105-3 Outdoor Deposit or Storage of Waste No person, as owner, occupant, lessee or agent, or in any capacity, shall store, deposit, place, maintain, or cause or permit it be stored, deposited, placed or maintained or grown outdoors any abandoned, junked, discarded, wholly or partially dismantled, unlicensed or unregistered motor vehicle or any solid waste, rubbish, debris upon any private property within the Town.
Building codes are changing all the time, and new regulations, codes, and procedures need to be followed. Just a reminder, building permits are required for any structure or alteration of a project that involves safety. Permits are not required for re-roofing or siding of a house. Figure if there is a safety issue with the construction, then a permit will be needed
A. No person, firm, corporation, association or partnership shall commence the construction, enlargement, alteration, improvement, removal or demolition of any building or structure or any portion thereof without first having obtained a permit from the code Enforcement Officer of the Town. No such permit shall be
required for necessary repairs which are not of a structural nature and do not involve abatement of a violation of the Uniform Code.
The cold weather is on its way and those of you, who have wood stoves, please have your chimneys swept to prevent fires. Check the outsides for cracking in the mortar, and for loose blocks. Creosote can be very nasty and when it com-busts, the fire can be very hard to extinguish. Preventing fires saves lives.
I would also like to point out there has been a rash of robberies in the town. Please talk to your neighbors and friends to keep watch on each other. The property you save could be yours.
Now is a good time to start weatherizing to keep your fuel cost at dull roar. I will come to your house for an inspection, if you wish, and give my opinion on structural needs and any safety issues. I might even be able to give some advice on energy loss that you may have a problem with. A dollar saved is a dollar earned.
