A Special meeting of the Town of Hartland, County of Niagara, State of New York, was held on the above date at the Town Hall, 8942 Ridge Road, Gasport convening at 1:00 p.m.

Members present:

  • W. Ross Annable
  • F. David Snyder, Daniel Hill- absent
  • Joseph Reed,   Brian Gross
Supervisor Annable called said meeting, giving notice by posting at the Town Clerk's office and to the Town website. The Special meeting was called in order to meet the purchase deadline.

Supervisor Annable discussed that the government surplus plow truck that was recently delivered needs to be replaced due to a seized engine.  The Town has not yet paid for this truck, so therefore, there are 3 options:

  1. The parts could be salvaged
  2. The vehicle could be shipped back
  3. The vehicle could be purchased at a reduced rate.
This truck will need to be replaced and since there are none to be purchased in the United States, the truck will need to be shipped from Germany.  The truck is basically the same cost as the last truck, ($3500.00), and the remaining amount is for shipping costs.  The value of the vehicle is between $100,000.00 - 125,000.00.

MOTION by Councilman Snyder, seconded by Councilman Gross to approve the shipping costs and authorize the payment of one Government issued military surplus truck tractor in an amount, not to exceed $17,000.00.

Ayes:   4          Nays:   0          CARRIED

Meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p. m.
Respectfully submitted,
